AFCON 2024: Ivory Coast Open up the Scoring on Guinea-Bissau

Seko Fofana gave the Elephants the perfect start in the fourth minute in Afcon 2024, when he blasted home from inside the area as early as the fourth minute.

He almost made it 2-0 before half-time, but his shot was tipped onto the bar by Ouparine Djoco.

Jean-Philippe Krasso hooked in the second after the break after fine control under pressure in the box.

Jean-Philippe Krasso scored in each half for Cote d’Ivoire as they opened the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament with a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau.

The Ivorians have now gone top of Group A with three points, ahead of Nigeria’s game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

Seko Fofana was qualified to play for both countries in 2013. Previously, Fofana played for the France U16, U17, U18, and U19 teams. On 3 April 2017, Fofana elected to represent the Ivory Coast, the country of his parents.

Fofana made his debut for Ivory Coast in a 2–0 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification loss to Morocco on 11 November 2017.
