Antony Santos Biography and Net Worth

Antony Santos (born February 24, 2000), also known as Antony, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Premier League side Manchester United and the Brazil national team.

Antony Santos made his senior debut for São Paulo in 2018, after graduating from their academy. He moved abroad to Ajax in the summer of 2020, where he won two Eredivisie titles and a KNVB Cup in two seasons.

Antony Santos a gold medal for Brazil’s under-23 squad at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He then made his senior international debut and scored against Venezuela in October 2021, before going on to represent Brazil in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Sao Paulo (2010–2018)

The 22-year-old honed his skills while playing for the Sao Paulo youth squads. His most notable achievement came in 2018 when he helped the team win Japan’s J League Challenge tournament. As a result, he received the tournament’s Best Player title.

On September 26, 2018, the 22-year-old was promoted to the senior team together with Helinho and Igor Gomes for their great performances. Antony has signed a contract with his childhood club until September 2023.

Two days later, Antony signed a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €95 million (£82 million), with an additional €5 million (£4.27 million) in add-ons, the club’s third highest transfer fee ever paid after Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, and the largest transfer in Ajax and the Eredivisie history. When he got to the club, he was given the number 21 shirt that Edinson Cavani, who had just left, had been wearing.

Manchester United

On September 4, he scored his debut for the club in a 3-1 home league win over rivals Arsenal. He scored again in United’s following league game, a 6-3 loss to local rivals Manchester City on October 2.

The next week, he scored for the third time in a league game, tying the score at Everton in a 2-1 victory, becoming the first United player to do so.

 

On February 23, 2023, he also scored the winner in a 2-1 Europa League playoff encounter against Barcelona, coming on as a replacement at halftime, a day before his 23rd birthday.

Antony started in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the 2023 EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium on February 26, earning his first title with the club.
