Raphael Varane (born April 25, 1993) is a French professional footballer who plays center-back for Premier League club Manchester United.

Varane, regarded as one of the best defenders in the world and of his generation, is noted for his defensive skills, leadership, aerial ability, and pace.

Varane previously played for French club Lens, and before the 2010-11 season, he began practicing with the senior team and featured on the bench in many league games.

He made his professional debut in 2010 at the age of 17, and after one season, he joined Real Madrid.

Early Life

Raphaël Xavier Varane was born on April 25, 1993, in Lille, France, where he developed a love for football.
