The USA’s games versus Ireland in April were closely contested contests, but the USA prevailed in both.

In the first match, the USA won 2-0 thanks to goals from Emily Fox and Lindsay Horan, while in the second, the USA won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Alana Cook.

Due to their victories in the last two World Cups, the USA will enter the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand as one of the favorites. Their most recent exit from the championship game was in 2007.

But not everything has gone smoothly for coach Andonovski. Andonovski’s ability to keep the US at the top of the global pedestal has been questioned in light of his failure to get to the Olympic final in Tokyo and worries about the growth of the team’s younger players.

It will be interesting to see how many of the “old guard” make the final USA Women Team Players 2023

Several recent squads have been without players like Megan Rapinoe, while others, like Christen Press, may not be ready in time.

The return of Julie Ertz, who has missed many seasons due to pregnancy and injuries, will be a massive help to a midfield that has frequently appeared out of sync.

Mallory Swanson’s injury in the opening round against Ireland will be a significant setback for the US. Swanson, one of their most effective strikers, was forced to withdraw from the team after ripping her left patella tendon, which means she will not participate in the World Cup. Alyssa Thompson, 18 years old, took her spot.

The United States will play Vietnam in their opening World Cup match on July 22. They are in Group E with Portugal, the Netherlands, and Vietnam. Their final World Cup roster is seen here.
